WinterWise Campaign offers extra help to winterize your home this October
As cold weather approaches, Garfield Clean Energy is again teaming up with local electric utilities to offer extra help to residents looking to winterize their homes and lower their energy bills.
As part of our annual WinterWise Campaign, we're providing free energy coaching and discounted home-energy checkups during the month of October, along with a prize drawing for a $500 Lowe’s gift card. Sign up at our website and one of our energy coaches will help you schedule a home energy audit, walk you through your audit report, recommend the most cost-effective measures for your home, and connect you with all the rebates and financial aid you’re entitled to.

Energy coaching helps Carbondale homeowner build efficiency into a rebuild

You can't manage building energy use if you don't measure it
There is a saying, “you can’t manage what you don’t measure.” When it comes to managing utility costs in large buildings, energy use can’t be measured without knowing how much the buildings are consuming. Lights left on, improper heating and cooling control settings, and other inefficient building operations may seem invisible to building occupants, but they result in wasted energy.
All GCE partners get access to a program called Advanced Energy Management (AEM), to track energy use in their facilities. AEM makes energy use visible, empowers organizations to optimize it, eliminate waste, generate cost savings, and reduce carbon emissions. Oct. 24: 'Powering Hospitality' at Glenwood's Hot Springs Lodge
Do you manage a lodging facility? Then mark your calendar for Thursday, Oct. 24th, 9-10a.m., when GCE, CLEER and Impact Energy will present 'Powering Hospitality." Held at the Hot Springs Lodge in Glenwood Springs, this free "breakfast-and-learn" session will brief you on Colorado's new benchmarking and building performance standards that require progressive energy efficiency upgrades in buildings over 50,000 square feet. Compliance aside, these upgrades can make good financial sense, even for smaller buildings. Afterwards, we'll take a tour of the newly renovated rooms using hot springs water for heating!
